This kite is being developed now and once tested we will be able to advise of the wind range.

Ken highly recommends attendance at Friday Night's Threading Party to understand many of the standard skills necessary in kite making.

The Vixen is still in development, and I'll have details, specifications and  pictures to share soon. In the meantime, I do have some design parameters for you.

The Vixen is what I'm calling a "compound" kite, with a tensioned and 3D shaped front wing, and a stressed member tail section. I've done a couple iterations of the wing, and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm pleased with size, form and shaping. Still a couple wrinkles to work out in the patterns, but I think it's going to look great in the sky, as well as perform very well.

Still trying to narrow down what to do with the tail section, but I've got several solid ideas. Of course, the one I'm most attracted to is the one that I'm least confident will work. But, isn't that the kind of thing that keeps it interesting?

I will be providing pre-cut sails, frames and all misc. hardware materials. The sails are two colors, the majority being white, with accents chosen by you from a palette of available colors to be provided later.

As we get closer, I'll provide a list of tools and expendable materials (thread, etc.) that you'll need to bring. I'll also have a list of what I consider "prerequisite skills" that will assist in completing your project. Don't let that last bit scare you, I'm not sending anybody away without either a finished kite, or the skills and knowledge to easily complete it.

This is going to be fun!
