UMAKE Your Own Tie Dye!

NOTE: Examples show shirts Cassie has dyed and have sold through Flying Smiles Kites.  Our 2026 U-MAKE Event shirt is still being designed by Gary Maynard!  

TYPE OF CLASS:  No Sew Dyeing Project---wear dark colors or clothes that  can get dye on them without crying.  

CLASS SIZE: 60 

SKILL LEVEL:  All Skill Levels

CLASS LENGTH: Dyeing will be held Friday Night after Dinner

TIMES OFFERED:  Offered Once--Friday Evening....plan for about an hour to tie/band your shirt.  

SIZE OF PROJECT:  It will match your t-shirt size

WIND RANGE:   If you frame and bridle it right, anything can fly, right?

Lets make our U-MAKE shirts colorful this year! Cassie will be offering a class where you can tie dye your U-MAKE tee!  (U-MAKE T-Shirt bought separately!) You'll be using rubber bands and liquid dye to make a one of a kind tee for your kiting wardrobe. 

Skills presented: Cassie will teach the group different ways to tie up shirts using rubber bands to create cool patterns. This is also a good chance to learn more about different dye techniques, as Cassie does 3 different types of tie dye processes in her Maker Life. 

Color Choices: Cassie will bring a large range of colors across the rainbow, with multiple shades of each color available. The class will break out into smaller groups and pick 4-5 colors to use per group. 

Supplies/Equipment Needed for class -- Nothing. Cassie will provide everything you need, including a good pair of kitchen gloves to take home with you, along with your new shirt!   Wear dark colors--we will be using dye!

KIT ORDER CUT OFF:  by 01/15/2026  Extra shirts available to any current U-MAKE Registrant if you want to dye multiple shirts!  Order shirts during enrollment.

KIT PRICE: 2 items....all fees (shirt & kit) will be paid at time of registration dues

2. Dye class fee will be $10 US

• NOTE: Cassie will be dying a small number of U-MAKE shirts as samples.  If you would like Cassie to personally dye YOUR U-MAKE shirt she can...$40 (Shirt+Dye Kit+Labor)
