Join Mike Dertien in building a ten foot Aztec Delta! 

Welcome to the amazing Aztec Delta project. This is going to be fun!  This project requires some good sewing skill (intermediate) and careful assembly.  

Class time will be about12 hours (1 & 1/2 days) to give you enough time to sew 24 pieces into 2 identical wings and a keel. All seams are straight lines making sewing easy. The edges are edge-bound and the keel is hemmed. Templates will be available in class for panel alignment and seam taping and rolling. I'll show you how I use templates and tape seams. You will need your sewing machine and your personal sewing tools. I recommend non-stick needles for sewing through seam tape but cleaning your needle will work too. 

The finished kite has a 10 foot wing span and stands almost 4 feet high. It flys steady in 5 to 12 mph wind and requires 80# line, supplied with your kit on a halo spool.

FYI. Panel #1 lines up with panels 3,4 &5. Panel 2 lines up with panel 6. For color matching. 

Chose your colors and number them per panel. Send that info to me ASAP after enrollment.  Number each panel with the color.  Enrollment cuts off January 16, 2026

Colors are your choice, and with so many panels, the choices are plentiful. Maybe a 3 color theme or a rainbow or hot colors or cool colors. Let your imagination go wild. You will receive a template with numbered panels upon registration in the Aztec Delta. 

KIT PRICE:  Aztec Kite is $140 US  The kit will include all materials, spars, fly line and bag material all for the low cost of $140.00 US dollars.
