To make the happiest little kite, each student starts by choosing sail colors (swatches and guidelines will be mailed in advance). Then in class, students will plan a design and cut solid and/or printed shapes to use in a pleasing composition for a dancing appliqué that can be spotted through the kite's circular window.
Results can be beautiful, amusing, bold, delicate... Each unique kite is a 14 inch tall, ½ oz ripstop polyester and fiberglass version of Takeshi Nishibayashi's jittery-but-totally-reliable " 2-layer "jyu zoko" kite, including a cool little bag.
