Paul Homan is a kite maker, instructor, and lifelong builder from McPherson, Kansas. With more than 30 years of experience building and flying kites, he brings a practical, hands-on perspective to the kite community and to the classes he teaches.

Paul’s background in manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, automation, and creative problem-solving influences the way he approaches kite design and construction. He enjoys combining traditional kite-making skills with modern tools such as 3D printing, digital design, and CNC laser cutting.

His involvement in kiting began early, through time spent building, flying, and supporting kite events with his family. Paul helped his parents, Bob and Janet, put on the Twisted Lines Kite Festival in Topeka, Kansas, an experience that helped shape his appreciation for the creativity, friendships, and shared learning found in the kite community.

As an instructor, Paul focuses on making technical skills approachable and useful. His classes are designed to help makers gain confidence, explore new methods, and apply what they learn to their own kite-building projects.
