KITE FITTINGS DESIGN: LIFT YOUR IDEAS INTO THE FUTURE
Are your designs getting tangled up in connections? Learn to design custom fittings! From leading edge connectors, T’s, and dihedrals to specialized fittings for complex geometrical, polygonal, multi-cell, and experimental kites, this class allows your sketchbook to soar. We will go step-by-step through Autodesk Fusion software, covering 3D modeling fundamentals such as sketching, parametric design, spar and ferrule tolerance, and strength considerations. Please bring a laptop with Fusion installed; you will leave with a custom fitting of your own design. 3D printers will be on-site to build your fittings and other objects.
Autodesk Fusion (formerly Fusion 360) is a cloud-based CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software. It is often free for eligible students/educators and hobbyists. It seamlessly combines 3D modeling, electronics design, and manufacturing tools (like CNC programming) into a single platform.
