Jon Trennepohl’s Suspended Wing Delta
It’s a large kite, 97.5” wide and 80” tall, designed for 2 – 10 mph winds. The kite is made out of icarex and wrapped carbon tubes. Comes complete with instruction manual. It’s a great flier in lighter winds but isn’t limited to those. The cost for the entire kit is $130.00 and includes everything needed to make this kite.
History of the suspended wing delta; the original suspended wing delta that I made is the one that won the People's Choice Award at the AKA 2014. I then made the design smaller which is the Yellow version (in slideshow) which I have been flying and adjusting for the last 6 years. I then changed the graphics to the latest version for a workshop kite that I introduced at the Maryland kite retreat in 2024.
This kite has definite aeronautical and nautical elements. A delta wing up front and battens behind. Strangely exciting if you have any aviation background!
