If you can sew a straight line, you can make a kite. Let Craig help you master straight lines (very cool straight stitch hem jig) with his Dice Cube. The Cube has under 140 inches of straight-line stitching, so by the time you complete the kite you will be very experienced.
The cube kite plan is a wonderful beginner sewing plan with lots of finishing options.
The Cube Dice will show you great hemming jig tricks that will be the cornerstone of any future projects. The Cube Dice’s Die (Spots) will use insignia cloth, so beginners will not have to attempt applique until they reimagine this kite at home!
The cube is an active single line kite and can also be flown with a short line at the end of a banner pole for a sensitive wind indicator.
The cube kite is also a great kite to pack for travel. Small, light, and you can always add a light for night flying. The cube kite flies much like a 3-dimensional fighter! Lots of fun!
