My first acquaintance with kites was watching my father make paper diamond kites in the spring when I was 8 years old.
We took them to the park to fly but few were able to be flown again.
In 2003 at a family outing to the Outer Banks I bought my first kite and almost immediately broke a spar. The search
for a spar lead to joining the AKA and eventually U-Make in 2012. Attending the Great Lakes Kite Festival spurred my
interest in ground display and show kites. My ground display collection continues to grow. So I have found ways to make
banner setup quicker and easier.
This class will be my first time teaching at U-Make. I have taught a few kite making classes with children.
I am currently the president of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society.
