This bag class has two objectives:

1. The first is to create a kite airline bag that can be hung from your shoulder and taken on a plane to be quickly and easily stowed in an overhead

2. Second, this class will give you the skills and techniques to build additional bags perhaps more specific to your everyday travel and storage needs

So, if you are planning a future excursion and could use a simple but functional carry on bag for several of your favorite kites, this class may be for you, or if you just want to be more organized as you pack for the weekend event!

Adapted from a design by Aussie kitemakers, Paul will walk you through building a nifty Kite Travel Bag (about 52” x 8”). The pack cloth bag includes carrying handles, a sturdy two way zipper and a shoulder strap. Paul gives a few tips for packing that can help protect your kites. Want slightly different dimensions? No big deal. After this class, you’ll be a certified bag-person capable of building to your needs.

Supplies/Equipment Needed for class -- Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, straightedge, light colored marking pencil, scissors, seam ripper, good quality size 14 needles, and good quality thread (size #33 black nylon bonded thread works well). If you want to “mark” the bag as your own, bring along an embroidered patch.
